History
In 1860, Redland was on the outskirts of Bristol, but growing rapidly. Members of Highbury Chapel, Kingsdown, decided that a Congregational Church was needed in the area, so a plot of land was bought and Redland Park Congregational Church was opened in 1861. A year later, it called its first minister, Rev. Urijah Rees Thomas, who served the church and local community until his death in 1901. Since Urijah Thomas, the church has been ably served by another nine ministers, including our current minister, Rev. Dougie Burnett. |

.In December 1940, the original church building was destroyed in an air raid on Bristol during the Second World War. Church members were saddened but not defeated, and over the next few years raised enough money to rebuild the church, based on the original foundations, and the new building was opened in 1957.
